Mac OS data recovery
All operating systems can fail – all it needs is a small power surge down your mains line to cause corruption to your operating system, but whether it is a Windows, Unix or Mac OS, data recovery is always possible. If you are subject to a disk drive failure, it is often possible to predict that it’s going to happen. This is because you will usually have some sort of warning of impending doom. You may start getting frequent disk error messages, the disk may not be seen by the computer on startup, or you could start hearing weird clicking or whirring noises. The Hierarchical File System used in Apple computers effectively means that Mac OS data recovery is very different from computers using a Microsoft operating system, and so we approach recovery in a different way.
A sudden power outage of surge can cause corruption to the Mac OS file system data. Recovery by Intratec will be made very much easier if, when you have witnessed such an outage or surge, you stop using the hard drive immediately. Don’t try to carry out Mac OS data recovery yourself using downloaded recovery software as you may do even more damage – this is a job that should be left to professionals such as Intratec’s technicians. If you get any error messages at all that refer to the disk drive, volume, file or segment, or indeed any error messages that you are unsure about, you should stop using the disk immediately to avoid doing any further damage.
